This schedule and Passenger list is a tentative list which may be altered several times prior to the actual flight.

This is our group of Veterans attending Honor Flight Michigans’ second flight. This picture was taken outside National Coney Island at Metropolitan Airport, May 5th, 2007, prior to their flight.

Text Box: HONOR FLIGHT MICHIGAN ITINERARY SAT. SEPTEMBER 6, 2008 Greetings to our beloved WWII Veterans!! We are absolutely honored to be able to escort you to Wash. D.C. This group of 55 will consist of 40 Vets and 15 Guardians. We have a pretty full day planned for you, and we hope you enjoy your trip. Here is our schedule: 3:30a.m. Arrive, or park, in the NE corner of Meijers parking lot at 5150 Coolidge Hwy, Royal Oak, Btw 14-15 (Maple) mile rds. There, you will enter, check in, receive a carry-on bag w/various sundries, a numbered/colored name tag, and an Honor Flight Michigan T-shirt. Please keep your personal items to a minimum (ex. sunglasses, sunscreen(3 oz. or less), camera, etc., your Government issued picture I.D.(Driver’s license, or a passport, etc.) and any meds you might need to take). No pocket knives/lighters, etc. For meds, a single 1 Qt. Ziploc bag is required, to pass through security. Dress comfortably, especially your footwear. NW Flight Status No.: 1 800-225-2525 If you choose to meet us at Metro Airport please be there at 5:00AM at the NW airlines ticket counter near the security lines. Let Honor Flight know if you are meeting at the airport when they call. 4:15a.m. Board Motor coaches and leave for Detroit Metro Airport. 5:00a.m. Motor coaches arrive at the McNamara Terminal Northwest ticket counter for check in. After going through security check pt., you will be provided with a sit down breakfast at National Coney Island. 7:24a.m. Northwest Flt. #234 departs Metro for Wash. Intl. (Reagan) Airport. 8:45a.m. Arrive in Wash. D.C. and board motor coaches to the Memorial. Pick up wheelchairs and bottled water. 9:15a.m. Arrive at the WWII Memorial. Pick up scooters as needed/available. 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. Visit the WWII Memorial. 11:00a.m. Pick up boxed lunches and travel by motor coach for a drive-by of other Memorials to and/or from, Arlington National Cemetery, for a tram tour (12:30-2:00p.m..) and a stop at the Tomb of the Unknowns for the 1:30p.m. changing of the guard. Guardians will provide assistance wherever needed (wheelchairs, etc.). Please stay with your group for safety and accountability purposes, as there will be many Vets from other parts of the U.S.A. 2:30p.m. Depart ANC and visit nearby Memorials as time permits while on the way to Wash. Intl. (Reagan) Airport. 3:00p.m. Arrive Wash. Intl. (Reagan) Airport for a light meal, check in/board. 4:25p.m. Northwest Flt. #235 returns to Detroit Metro Airport. 6:07p.m. Flt. Arrives Detroit Metro. Board motor coaches for return trip to R.O. 7:30-8:00p.m. Motor coaches arrive back at the Meijers parking lot. We know this could be a very physically taxing day, and of course, you are not required to do/see anymore than you want to. You can rest when needed and assistance will be provided throughout the day.
